Austin's Preschool Graduation

Austin had his Preschool Graduation the other day. It was very cute, they all dressed up in gowns and paraded past the parents, then they sang some songs - well Austin didn't sing much, he spent the whole time looking at the girl next to him for cues and a mouthing a few words every now and then, music is definitely not his strong point. Then they got called up individually to collect their certificates from Penny, who read out a few answers to questions they had been asked. Austin was so nervous, he stood there twisting his gown and looking like he wanted to cry.
"Austin's favourite thing to do at Little Dove is writing. He is going to miss playing. He is looking forward to writing and playing at big school. And when he grows up he wants to be a pilot."
with his best buddies Samuel & Scott, the 3 of them are completely inseparable, but they are all going to different schools next year and will probably forget about eachother, so sad

When we moved up here I remember being really stressed about finding a good preschool after leaving behind 2 awesome ones in Bundeena. We went to look at 4 different ones before we decided on Little Dove, it just had a really good feeling about the place. I know we definitely made the right choice, Austin had a big upheaval in his life at the time but the teachers were wonderful and it didn't take him long to fit in, make friends and absolutely love the place.
So our little baby boy is not so little anymore and his preschool days are finished, I get teary thinking about him in big school, but he is definitely ready to take that next step and gain more independance. Although a part of me will always see him as that tiny little baby we entrusted into Aunty Ang's care all those years ago at his first creche. It was so hard to walk away that day, even if it was only going to be a few hours. We've been so blessed to share his growing up with so many wonderful teachers, both here and in South Africa, and they will always hold a special place in my heart. So thank you Ang, Lindy, Angela, Portia, Catherine, Jenny, Danielle, Loma, Tina, Sally, Sara-Maree, Linda, Vivian, Penny, Donna, Kim, Lauren, Natalie, Justine and Penny for your patience, love, kisses and cuddles and for helping our boy grow into the beautiful person he is - you are all special angels. xo
